Boydson Family Fundraiser

July 22 was the hottest day of the year to date. Yet more than 250 people enjoyed a great tri-tip BBQ lunch and all the ice-cold lemonade, iced tea, and water they could drink at beautiful Lake Casitas. The purpose was to raise funds for Aaron and his family to help meet the expenses associated with his illness.   Great fellowship and a beautiful expression of unity within the Body of Christ in the Ojai Valley were added benefits.  Best of all, Aaron was able to be present for a few hours and gain strength from the love and support of all those gathered.

Ojai Valley Baptist, Calvary Chapel, Ojai Valley Community Church, Church of the Living Christ, First Baptist, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Ojai Valley Wesleyan were churches involved. Several local service groups lent equipment.  Aaron's employer, NewLeads, Inc. donated the tritip BBQ.  NewLeads employees, especially Laura, invested many hours in preparations.  Many local and area business donated goods and services for the silent auction and raffle.

As after-event donations were received, proceeds have surpassed $25,000.

It was, in the words of Aaron's father, Ken, ""A very good day."
